A crash between a dump truck and an SUV in northwest suburban Barrington left one person dead last week.

About 9:35 a.m. Thursday, a Peterbilt roller dump truck was traveling north on Route 14 near West Cuba Road when it struck a Subaru Outlander traveling west on Cuba and attempting to cross the northwest lanes, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was identified as Mark Agnini, 67, of Barrington.

The truck driver did not suffer any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, the sheriff’s office said. No citations have been issued.
