A 59-year-old man was shot while riding a bicycle in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side early Friday.

About 2:40 a.m., the man was riding in the 8100 block of South Emerald when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

He was shot in the thigh and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
