A body was discovered in a burning car Wednesday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

Crews responded to a car fire in the 10700 block of South Eggleston at 2:11 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

A body was discovered in the vehicle after the fire was extinguished, Zala said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately be reached to confirm the fatality.

The Chicago Fire Department could not immediately provide information.
