A man was found dead Wednesday morning on a street in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

James McLin, 56, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of West 55th Street at 5:35 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

McLin, of the 5800 block of South May, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:41 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Chicago Police are conducting a death investigation and do not believe the death is criminal in nature.
