Farmer, Jackson returning to White Sox broadcast booth

The radio broadcast team of Ed Farmer and Darrin Jackson will return for another year as the White Sox transition from 670-AM to WLS 890-AM next season.

Farmer, back for a 25th season on the White Sox radio network, and Jackson, returning for his 17th year as a broadcaster and eighth in the radio booth, agreed to one-year deals, sources said.

The TV broadcast team of Ken Harrelson and Steve Stone is also expected back in 2016, although it’s possible Harrelson, 74, may have his workload reduced, perhaps to around 100 games. Those details have yet to be ironed out. Harrelson considered a reduced schedule this season, but aside from missing some games for health and personal reasons, took on the full slate of games.

The Sox and Bulls announced an agreement with WLS in July that runs through 2021.

Stone, finishing his eighth season as a Sox broadcaster and seventh in the booth with Harrelson, is in the final year of a seven-year contract.
