A northwest suburban man is accused of stabbing another man at a party late Saturday in Wauconda.

Roberto Tinajero, 46, was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, both felonies, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to a call of a person shot in the 27600 block of West Case Road in Wauconda about 11:10 p.m., police said. When they arrived, they found the victim hadn’t been shot but had been stabbed.

Tinajero got into an argument with the victim while both were at a party, police said. During the argument, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the 42-year-old man in the left side of his abdomen.

The victim was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with non-life-threatening injuries and Tinajero was arrested at the scene, police said.

Tinajero, of the 400 block of Linden Drive in Round Lake Park, was ordered held at the Lake County Jail on a $250,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 14.
