Burglaries reported in Austin

Police are warning residents about a series of robberies over the past month in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The burglaries occurred at 1:10 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 100 block of Leclaire Avenue and 3:25 p.m. Sept. 2 in the 100 block of LaCrosse Avenue, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

The suspects are described as 18 to 20-year-old black men 5-foot-7 and 155 to 165 pounds, medium complexion with short black hair and brown eyes. They were armed with guns.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
