Man shot in Chicago Lawn

A man was shot Monday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting occurred in the 2500 block of West 71st Street at 2:45 p.m., police said.

The 34-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition.

The man is a gang member and convicted felon, police said.
