Illinois State Police are investigating the sexual assault of a young female jogger Sunday morning in the southwest suburbs.

The attack happened at 10:30 a.m. along the Illinois Michigan Canal Bike Path near Larkin Avenue south of Interstate 80 between Joliet and Rockdale, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his late twenties to early thirties, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 with black hair, wearing dark sweatpants with a white t-shirt and long-sleeved orange shirt.

A police sketch artist is scheduled to meet with the victim tomorrow.
