Burglaries reported in Austin

Police are warning residents about a series of burglaries reported over the past two weeks in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

In each of the reported break-ins, someone has entered homes through unlocked windows or rear doors and taken property from within, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The burglaries occurred:

  • In the 4800 block of West Huron between 10 a.m. and 8:20 p.m. Aug. 26;
  • In the 400 block of North Lawler about 2 a.m. Sept. 2;
  • In the 4800 block of West Race between noon and 5 p.m. Sept. 4.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
