Business burglaries reported in Morgan Park

Police are warning businesses about a pair of burglaries reported between Friday and Sunday night in the Beverly neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Someone entered one of the businesses by prying open a window and the other business by breaking into a vacant office next to the business, then breaching the wall between the businesses, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The burglaries occurred on the 10200 and 10400 blocks of Western Avenue between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m., police said. Money and property was stolen.

Police are advising business owners to have working alarm systems and keep cash hidden.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Area South detectives at (312) 747-8273.
