2 teens shot dead in Gary

A man and woman, both 18, were found fatally shot inside a car Thursday night in Gary, Indiana.

Officers were called about 8 p.m. to a shooting in the 700 block of East 49th Avenue and found them dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the vehicle, according to Gary police.

The Lake County coroner’s office identified the woman as Koreen Ramos and the man as Zantrell Collins. Both lived about three blocks away, in the 4900 block of Kentucky Street.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call detectives at (219) 755-3855.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
