A teenager has been charged with shooting two men Monday afternoon on the South Side near the former Harold L. Ickes homes.
The 15-year-old boy faces two counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, and one count of possessing a firearm with a defaced serial number, all felonies, according to Chicago Police. His name was not released because he is a juvenile.
The shooting happened at 1:07 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of South Federal Street, police said.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the face and neck, and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. A 27-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and was also taken to Northwestern, where his condition was stabilized.
Four suspects, three males and one female, were taken into custody after the shooting, but only the 15-year-old has been charged, police said. He also faces misdemeanor charges of possessing a firearm without a valid FOID, and criminal trespass to state land.
