Train on BNSF line ‘clips’ vehicle in Berwyn: Metra

Delays of 15-20 minutes were reported Thursday evening on Metra’s BNSF line after an outbound train struck a vehicle in west suburban Berwyn.

Train #1283 “clipped” a vehicle about 7 p.m. between the Lavergne and Berwyn stations and was stopped for about 20 minutes while the accident was investigated, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said. The train was scheduled to arrive at the Route 59 Station at 6:54 p.m.
