Man shot dead on Sheridan Park sidewalk

A man was fatally shot in the Sheridan Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon on the North Side.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 3:40 p.m. in the 4400 block of North Racine found 26-year-old Tramell Williams lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Williams, whose home address was not known, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died at 4:12 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

The circumstances of the shooting were unknown. Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
