Man shot in Elgin

A man was shot Saturday morning in northwest suburban Elgin.

The man, whose age was not immediately known, was shot about 11 a.m. inside an apartment in the 100 block of South State, according to a statement from Elgin police.

He was taken to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery, Commander Colin Fleury said over the phone. His condition was not immediately known.

Police believe that “all parties involved are known to each other.”
