A 36-year-old man was fatally shot by Markham police outside a club in the south suburb early Sunday.

The man shot was identified as Donte T. Jones of the 300 block of South Fifth Avenue in Maywood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 3:29 a.m.

An autopsy Monday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The shooting happened outside the Stadium Club in the 16300 block of Dixie Highway in Markham.

The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force is assisting with the investigation into the police-involved shooting.

Markham police did not respond to repeated requests for information about the shooting.
