Deon L. Brown | Lake County sheriff’s office

A north suburban man who was wanted on a $1 million warrant was arrested last week in Wisconsin.

Deon L. Brown, 23, was arrested about 10 a.m. Friday in the 5500 block of 61st Street in Kenosha, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

Brown had active Lake County warrants for armed robbery, resisting a peace officer, and failure to appear for drug-related warrants, according to the sheriff’s office. He is also a documented gang member who had eluded arrest for more than a month.

He was seen driving a vehicle in Kenosha and tried to flee police, but was taken into custody by members of the sheriff’s Warrants Division and the U.S. Marshal Service Great Lakes Regional Task Force.

Brown, of the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue in North Chicago, is being held at the Kenosha County Jail awaiting an extradition hearing.
