Police are warning South Side residents after five robberies were reported in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood in the last month.

Between one and three robbers imply they have firearms and demand property from victims, or use force to take items without a weapon, according to a community alert from Area South detectives.

The robberies happened:

  • at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 15 in the 1200 block of West 79th Street;
  • at 5 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 7900 block of South May;
  • at 4:25 p.m. Sept. 27 in the 1200 block of West 79th;
  • at 8:03 p.m. Sept. 28 in the 1300 block of West 79th; and
  • at 8 p.m. Sept. 29 in the 7900 block of South May.

One of the suspects was riding a BMX bicycle, according to police.
