Gary police are searching for the person who robbed a Family Dollar store at gunpoint Wednesday night.

The male suspect entered the store at 61 E. Ridge Rd. about 8:30 p.m. and robbed it at gunpoint, according to Gary Police Lt. Dawn Westerfield.

He took cash and two cellphones, then ran away, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt, black jogging pants and black baseball cap.
