Man shot while sitting in vehicle on South Side

A man was shot while sitting in a vehicle early Saturday in the South Side Stateway Gardens neighborhood.

About 2:04 a.m., the 35-year-old was sitting in a vehicle in the 3800 block of South State when another vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The 35-year-old was shot in both legs.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
