A man was killed in a crash late Tuesday in the unincorporated western suburbs.

Two vehicles crashed about 11 p.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Gary’s Mill Road in unincorporated West Chicago, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

One of the drivers, 35-year-old Shaun Wold of West Chicago, was ejected from his vehicle, according to the sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.

Both drivers were taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, where Wold was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The intersection was closed until about 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
