A gas station was robbed by a man with a gun on Tuesday in north suburban Waukegan.

About 7 p.m., officers were sent to a BP Amoco gas station in the 2900 block of Belvidere Road for a report of an armed robbery, Waukegan police said.

A gas station employee told officers that a white male, about 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, robbed the business with a handgun, police said. The robber wore a black jacket with a red hooded sweatshirt that concealed his face.

He left the area on foot after the robbery, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to call police at (847) 360-9001.
