Man shot in Lawndale

A man was shot early Sunday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 1:30 a.m., a man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of South Polk when two people walked up and fired shots striking him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
