16-year-old boy shot in North Lawndale

A 16-year-old boy was shot Tuesday morning in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The teenager was walking in the 1300 block of South Albany at 9:22 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. The shooting happened near the perimeter of Douglas Park.

He was shot in the lower right leg and taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
