Two men were shot late Wednesday night in a parking lot in west suburban Aurora.

They were seated in a car in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Reckinger Road in Aurora about 11:50 p.m. when someone approached the car and started shooting inside, according to the Kane County sheriff’s office.

Both men were struck and drove themselves to the Aurora Police Department, according to the sheriff’s office. They were take to Provera Mercy Medical Center in Aurora with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Investigators are still trying to establish a motive but have not ruled out that the sale or purchase of illegal drugs played a role in this shooting,” a statement from the sheriff’s office said.

No one is in custody.
