Third baseman Todd Frazier, who has started every game for the White Sox this season, was under the weather will be out of the starting lineup when the Sox open a 10-game home stand Tuesday with a three-game series against the Houston Astros at U.S. Cellular Field.

Frazier, who is batting .228, is leading the team in homers (12) and RBI (32) wasn’t at the ballpark when manager Robin Ventura met with media. Ventura wasn’t ruling out that Frazier would arrive, though, and be able to play at some point tonight.

“He could make it here by tonight, come in, hit a home run, win the game and everyone will stay away from him,” Ventura said.

Frazier had an eventful road trip in Texas and New York. He left Wednesday’s game after diving into the stands for a foul ball and cutting his lip, which needed to be stitched up. After an off day Thursday, he was back in the starting lineup Friday.

The Sox (24-14) finished 2-4 on the road trip.

Frazier is hitting .367 with five home runs, 14 RBI, eight runs scored, six walks and a 1.372 OPS over hislast eight games. His 12 homers are one less than Sox third basemen combined for in 2015 and are the most by a third baseman in Sox history through 38 games (Ventura had nine in 1994).Tyler Saladino was in the lineup at third base, and designated hitter Avisail Garcia was in Frazier’s customary cleanup spot against Astros left-hander Dallas Keuchel.

The Sox lineup:

Adam Eaton RF, Jimmy Rollins SS, Jose Abreu 1B, Avisail Garcia DH, Melky Cabrera LF, Brett Lawrie 2B, Austin Jackson CF, Dioner Navarro C, Tyler Saladino 3B. Carlos Rodon pitching.
