A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Thursday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 32-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 5500 block of West Corcoran about 11:20 a.m. when shots were fired from a passing red van, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the abdomen, then walked to another location and called police. He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

The red van drove off after the shooting, police said.
