A man was critically wounded in a shooting late Thursday in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.

The 23-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 6200 block of South King Drive about 11 p.m. when a male walked up and shot him, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the back and abdomen and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
