A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side Thursday afternoon.

The 34-year-old was walking in the 2200 block of South Wood at 4:18 p.m. when someone inside a passing SUV fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The man, a documented gang member, was shot in the leg, police said.

His condition and what hospital he was taken to were not immediately known.
