When Mike Ditka put on a green and yellow Green Bay Packers sweater for a McDonalds commercial a portion of the Bears fan base almost couldn’t handle it. The ridiculousness of it all was the driving point behind the commercial. However, it may have been Ditka’s shrewdest move ever.
After the commercial first aired, the Packers have gone winless.
The McDonalds ad first made it’s rounds the week of Oct. 26. Since then the previously undefeated Packers have lost to both the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, the latter coming most recently.
Sunday during their road loss to the Panthers, things looked especially ugly for the Packers. Despite only losing by a touchdown, Green Bay had multiple blowups on the sideline.
After missing an open receiver in the end zone, Aaron Rodgers was caught on camera throwing the tablet in anger.
On the other side of the ball, defensive back HaHa Clinton-Dix was seen getting into a heated, and even physical with teammates Julius Peppers and B.J. Raji.

Of course, the two losses came against two of the better teams in the NFL, both of which were undefeated at the time. They may be able to get over the Ditka curse pretty quickly. The Packers play teams with a record below .500 three of the next four weeks, including a Thanksgiving game against the Bears.
