Man stabbed during argument with roommate in Hermosa

Charges were pending early Monday against a man accused of stabbing and critically wounding his roommate during an argument in their Hermosa neighborhood apartment on the Northwest Side.

About 11:45 p.m. Sunday, the 35-year-old man stabbed his roommate in the abdomen with a kitchen knife in their apartment in the 4000 block of West Palmer, police said.

The roommate, a 23-year-old man, ran away from the home and was seen by Grand Central District officers stumbling down the street and holding his stomach, police said.

He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

As of early Monday, charges were pending against the 35-year-old man, police said. Area North detectives are investigating.
