Parts of I-190 and Mannheim Road will be closed near O’Hare Airport on Saturday night as crews work to install beams for a new Balmoral Avenue extension bridge.

Starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, the entrance ramp from eastbound I-190 to Mannheim road will be closed, according to a statement from the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Northbound traffic on Mannheim Road will also experience temporary 15-minute stops, transit officials said.

The closures will last until 7 a.m. Sunday, the department said. During that time, a posted detour will be in place for drivers.

Another night of work is scheduled April 18, officials said. On that day, Mannheim Road will be stopped intermittently in both directions for 15 minutes at a time.

The closures will allow workers to install beams for the new Balmoral Avenue extension bridge.

Motorists should expect delays and pay attention to flaggers and signage in work zones.
