Gary man wanted for strangulation, criminal confinement

Authorities in northwest Indiana are searching for a Gary man accused of multiple felonies, including criminal confinement, strangulation and forced entry into his estranged wife’s home.

Willie Carter, 28, has been charged with two counts of criminal confinement, battery causing serious bodily injury, strangulation, residential entry, theft and domestic battery after an incident Nov. 1 in the 4300 block of West 24th Avenue in Gary, according to a statement from Gary police.

Carter has not yet been taken into custody, police said.
