A 17-year-old boy was shot early Thursday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

He was a passenger in a car pulling out of an alley in the 4500 block of West Madison at 5:19 a.m. when a male walked up to the car and fired numerous times, according to Chicago Police.

The teen was shot in the left thigh, and was taken in fair condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Two other males who were in the vehicle were not struck by gunfire.
