Man killed in Robbins shooting identified

One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting early Monday in south suburban Robbins.

The shooting happened about 1:15 a.m. in the 13500 block of St. Louis Avenue in Robbins, according to Cook County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari.

Sean McDonald, 29, was shot multiple times and taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where he was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. McDonald lived in the 4800 block of Long Avenue in Stickney.

A 27-year-old man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, Ansari said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
