Police are warning residents of an increase in robberies at Park in Austin on the West Side.

In the cases, a group of males between 14 and 17 years old walked up to people in or near the park and took their property by force or the threat of force, according to a community alert from police.

The incidents happened:

  • at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 29 in the 5600 block of West Jackson;
  • at 6:32 p.m. Aug. 30 in the 300 block of South Central;
  • at 6 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 300 block of South Central;
  • and at 3:25 p.m. Thursday in the 5600 block of West Jackson.

The plans, according to the team, will include additional green and open space with access to the lakefront and the Museum Campus, which Bears President Kevin Warren called “the most attractive footprint in the world.”
The complaint, field Wednesday, said the companies violated the state and federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act by failing to properly notify employees that they’d be laid off.
