Two people were shot Monday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk about 9:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 51st Street when someone in a black car nearby opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the thighs and right foot, while the man suffered a gunshot wound to the right shin, police said. They were both taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
