Police: Man followed victims into garages in Oak Lawn robberies

Police have released a composite sketch of a man who followed two people into their garages Tuesday afternoon in southwest suburban Oak Lawn and stole their jewelry at gunpoint.

The home invasions happened within minutes of each other, first at 2:20 p.m. in the 4100 block of 93rd Street and again at 2:30 p.m. in the 9600 block of South Kildare, according to a statement from Oak Lawn police.

The man, thought be between 25 and 35, showed a black handgun and took off in a large, dark red SUV, police said.

He was described as black, about 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt with writing across the front.
