Two men have been charged with robbing and beating a woman Tuesday night in the North Side Lake View neighborhood.

Steven Thompson, 26, battered the 23-year-old woman while Sadarian Washington, 23, took her purse at 11:50 p.m. in the 800 block of West Buckingham Place, according to Chicago Police.

Washington, of the 9000 block of South Cottage Grove, faces two counts of robbery, one count of aggravated battery to a peace officer and one count of criminal damage to property. Police said he was “combative” with officers and damaged a squad vehicle. He was treated at Illinois Masonic Medical Center for a cut to his hand, police said.

Thompson, of the 200 block of North Eastern Avenue in Joliet, was charged with a felony count of robbery.

A judge set bond at $750,000 for each man at a Thursday hearing, according to Cook County Circuit Court records. They are due back in court Sept. 21.
