Garage burglaries reported in Norwood Park

Police are warning Northwest Side residents about several garage burglaries this month in the Norwood Park neighborhood.

The suspect kicks or pries open the side door of a garage, or enters through an unlocked door, then takes construction tools, lawn equipment, air compressors, fishing equipment and cash, according to a community alert from Area North detectives.

The burglaries happened:

  • between 10 p.m. Sept. 12 and 5:30 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 7700 block of West Olive;
  • between 8:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 8 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 5600 block of North Ozark;
  • between 12:01 a.m. and 12 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 5600 block of North Ozark; and
  • between 12:01 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Sept. 18 in the 7800 block of West Gregory.
