Minnesota man charged with fatal shooting last month in Robbins

A Minnesota man has been charged with a shooting that left one man dead and another injured last month in south suburban Robbins.

TreDaniel Williams, 20, was charged with murder and attempted murder for the Aug. 8 shooting, according to a statement from the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Sean McDonald, 29, and a 27-year-old Chicago man were shot about 1 a.m. in the 13500 block of St. Louis Avenue in Robbins, authorities said.

McDonald was shot multiple times and taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where he was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m. that day, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the 4800 block of Long Avenue in Stickney.

The 27-year-old was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators identified Williams as the shooter, and a warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 10, the sheriff’s office said. The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force took him into custody Aug. 12 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he lives.

Williams was returned to Cook County Wednesday and was ordered held without bond during a court appearance Thursday at the Markham Courthouse, according to the sheriff’s office.
