Suspect in custody after Matteson bank robbery

A man was arrested after a bank robbery in south suburban Matteson on Friday afternoon.

The takeover bank robbery happened at the BMO Harris Bank branch about 2:30 p.m. at 4940 211th St. in Matteson, according to the FBI. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, was taken into custody following a car crash nearby.

Additional details weren’t available. Another bank was robbed in Glen Ellyn earlier in the day.
