Five teens were hospitalized early Saturday after they took Xanax and drank alcohol at a party in north suburban Tower Lakes.

At 12:17 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a 16-year-old girl not conscious or breathing in the 200 block of Stonehenge Lane in Tower Lakes, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office.

The girl was breathing when deputies arrived, according to the sheriff’s office. She and other teens had taken Xanax and drank alcohol at a party.

Five teens were taken to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, according to the statement. Two others were monitored at home by their parents. All have since fully recovered.

The Xanax belonged to one of the teens who had been prescribed the medication, according to the sheriff’s office.

The homeowners were aware of the party which started about 6:30 p.m. the previous night, but did not know about the drugs and alcohol, according to the statement.
