Man critically wounded in West Englewood shooting

A man was shot in the West Englewood neighborhood Wednesday evening.

The 38-year-old was standing outside in the 6600 block of South Damen about 5:30 p.m. when he heard gunfire and ran inside a nearby business, where he realized he was shot in the shoulder, police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
