16-year-old boy shot in Austin

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head Saturday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 8:06 p.m., he was in the park in the 5000 block of West Hirsch Street when someone walked up and shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police.

He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
