Bears coach John Fox once said that he would love to have 11 Kyle Longs out on the field. On Saturday, the Bears expressed even more faith in Long, agreeing on a four-year contract extension with the three-time Pro Bowl lineman.

According to the NFL Network, Long’s new deal is worth $40 million, including $30 million guaranteed. ESPN reported that the deal should be completed by next week.

The 20th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Long had two years remaining on his contract before the extension.

In April, the Bears exercised their fifth-year option on Long, who moved back to right guard after a season spent at right tackle.

Long has been dealing with a shoulder injury, but he has only missed one game in three seasons.
