Man wounded in Austin shooting

A man was shot in the West Side Austin neighborhood early Saturday.

The 24-year-old was outside in the 5000 block of West Adams about 4:15 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit in the right leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related.
