After a short standoff Saturday night, an 18-year-old man who police believe was involved in a state trooper’s carjacking was arrested in his West Side Lawndale neighborhood home.

The man was tracked to his home in the 4200 block of West 16th Street about 9 p.m., according to Cicero Police. Authorities surrounded the home while the suspect was inside with his mother and possibly his sister. The suspect surrendered after the two relatives left the home.

The off-duty state trooper had her car stolen Monday night by three males at West 18th Street and South 51st Court in Cicero, police said. The two males ran away but were arrested shortly after by Cicero police.

The vehicle and gun, which the trooper had left in the vehicle, were recovered, police said.

Additional details were not immediately available.
