About 5:30 p.m., the 22-year-old was in the 2000 block of South Allport when someone stepped into the street and opened fire, hitting him in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

The man drove to the 1600 block of West 21st Street and called for help, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
