Man shot in Heart of Chicago

A man was shot Sunday evening while driving in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood.

About 5:30 p.m., the 22-year-old was in the 2000 block of South Allport when someone stepped into the street and opened fire, hitting him in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

The man drove to the 1600 block of West 21st Street and called for help, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
